Capturing conversations

Permanity Capture reads the conversation you are currently viewing only when you choose to capture it.

Creating a capture does not by itself upload that conversation to Permanity.

Local export

Copy Markdown and Download .md let you export the captured conversation directly from your browser. A Permanity account is not required for these actions.

Send to Permanity

When you choose Send to Permanity, the specific capture you selected is made available to the Permanity website through a one-time browser handoff.

Permanity Capture does not automatically send future conversations. Each transfer begins with a user action.

Extension permissions

Permanity Capture uses access to chatgpt.com and claude.ai so it can read the conversation you explicitly ask it to capture.

Browser storage is used for extension preferences and temporary handoff state.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Permanity Capture uses captured conversation content only to provide its user-facing capture, export, and user-initiated handoff features.

User data is not sold or used for personalized advertising, and is not used or transferred for purposes unrelated to Permanity Capture's core functionality.

Human access to captured conversation content is not permitted except where required for security, legal compliance, or with the user's explicit consent for support.
